Read Across America 2014

March 2nd - March 8th, 2014

Grades JK-4 Special Events 

1.  Read Across America Questions of the Day -  Students will have the opportunity to answer daily questions of the day and turn in their answers in the library.   Each day two winners will be drawn.  Prizes will be books from Scholastic.

2.  Read Across America Special Lunches based around a children's book  - 

     Students will enjoy the lunches and stories each day during their lunch period.

      

  Monday- Pigs in a Blanket   and the story "The Three Little Pigs"

  Tuesday - Chicken Nuggets    and the story   "Chicken Little"

  Wednesday-Spaghetti & Meatballs  and the story "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs"

  Thursday - Pancake and sausages  and the story "If you Give a Pig a Pancake"

   Friday - Pizza & French Fries and the story "The little Red Hen Makes a Pizza"

3.  Guest Readers Mrs. Haack and Mrs. Hammann  will share stories to JK - 4 classrooms.

4.  Readers Theater in the library-Tuesday March 4th.

     JK-K   1:00-1:30

     1 & 2   1:30-2:00

     3 & 4   2:35-3:05

5.  Wed. March 5th   "Red & White" Day. 

     Students and staff can wear these colors to school.

6.  Wed. March 5th   "Read Across America Buddy Reading"  11:00-12:00 in the library.

     

7.  Friday March 7th   "Dress Up As Your Favorite Book Character Day"

8.  Friday March 7th   "Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration"  10:00 in the Elem. Cafeteria
    Mini-Cupcakes provided for all students Jk-4 from "Off the Rail"

9.  Friday March 7th - Movie Grade Jk-4  "Charlotte's Web"   1:15 in the library
